The Friends of Thorndon School are an active group of parents and members of the community who support the school in a variety of ways.

The Friends raise funds for the school by hosting annual events such as the Summer and Christmas Fayres, Easter Egg Trails, and Christmas Wreath Making Workshops, which are hugely successful and enjoyable and which involve the whole community.  

We make donations towards school trips and outings for all the children at the school, together with the annual Christmas Trip and the Year 6 end of year trip and leaver's hoodies.  In addition, we make donations to the school towards the purchase of iPads, IT equipment and other items that will benefit the children. 

Many of the Friends help around the school in a variety of ways; preparing the Church for Assemblies and Services, accompanying school trips and listening to children read to name but a few.

The Friends are always looking for new helpers, either to join the committee or maybe just to help out at major events.

The role of Chair is held by Tanya Hutson, the Secretary is Suzie Edwards and the Treasurer is Laura Chapman.
